After losing her husband, Shane Jones, to an illegal immigrant with a record of high-risk traffic violations, Nikki Jones found herself thrust into a fight she never anticipated. A mother and registered nurse, she turned her grief into action, founding The Voices Foundation to support survivors like herself. As crimes linked to illegal immigration rise nationwide, her organization stands as a beacon of hope, ensuring that no one facing such loss has to suffer alone.
A Mission of Justice and Support
The Voices Foundation is dedicated to:
- Bringing Awareness: Amplifying the voices of survivors to honor their loved ones and highlight the human cost of crimes committed by illegal immigrants.
- Providing Financial Assistance: Ensuring that families affected by these crimes receive the help they need to rebuild their lives.
- Fostering Healing: Offering emotional and financial support to victims to restore their sense of normalcy.
Illegal immigration-related crimes have surged at an alarming rate, with U.S. Customs and Border Protection reporting a 699% increase in arrests of illegal immigrants with criminal convictions from FY 2020 to the present. Additionally, ICE’s DD Lechleitner has disclosed that nearly 650,000 criminal aliens have been released into the United States. The crime statistics paint a grim reality:
- 14,944 homicides
- 20,061 sexual assaults
- 105,146 assaults
- 60,268 cases of robbery and burglary**
- 126,343 traffic offenses
- 16,820 weapon offenses
- 3,372 kidnappings
- 3,971 other sexual offenses
Alyssa Turns Tragedy into Advocacy
One of the foundation’s strongest advocates is Alyssa, a survivor who now serves as the Vice President of The Voices Foundation. In 2017, Alyssa was nine months pregnant when her life changed forever. She was hit by a school bus driven by an illegal immigrant who ran two red lights. Although Alyssa survived, the accident claimed the life of her daughter, Lena Noelle, and left her unable to have more children. After months of recovery, Alyssa found the strength to return to her career as a nurse. However, she knew her fight was far from over. She now dedicates her life to advocating for victims like herself, ensuring that their stories are heard, and their pain is not ignored. Through her role at The Voices Foundation, Alyssa helps families who have suffered similar tragedies find the support and justice they deserve.
The Foundations Impact
The Voices Foundation stands on the frontlines, advocating for those left behind in the aftermath of these tragedies. Their approach includes financial relief for struggling families to prevent further destabilization due to loss, resources to help survivors navigate the complexities of their new reality, and public awareness campaigns to shift the narrative and enforce stronger border policies.
Partnering for a Stronger Future
Nikki Jones, Alyssa, and the team at The Voices Foundation are calling on individuals, businesses, and policymakers to stand with them in this fight. The foundation is actively seeking partners and donors to expand their reach and aid more families in need.“The destruction of family units is 100% preventable if illegal immigration laws are enforced. I decided enough was enough. It was time to take a stand to rebuild and stabilize the victims and immediate households so the children do not suffer the long-term consequences of these avoidable crimes.” – Nikki Jones
