Address concerns regarding the excessive criminalization of regulatory offenses. It acknowledges that the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is extensive and complex, making it difficult for average citizens to understand which actions could inadvertently lead to criminal liability.

EO 14293 Regulatory Relief To Promote Domestic Production of Critical Medicines

Builds on previous initiatives, notably Executive Order 13944 from August 2020, aimed at combating public health emergencies and ensuring essential medicines are produced domestically. The new EO emphasizes the need to eliminate regulatory barriers that slow the establishment of domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing, which currently can take 5 to 10 years due to complex regulations and inspections.

EO 14292 Improving the Safety and Security of Biological Research

Tackles the risks associated with dangerous gain-of-function research involving biological agents. The order recognizes the potential dangers of such studies, which can enhance the pathogenicity or transmissibility of infectious agents, posing significant health risks to the public and national security.

EO 14291 Establishment of the Religious Liberty Commission

Establishing the Religious Liberty Commission. The primary purpose of the Commission is to vigorously enforce protections for religious liberty as enshrined in federal law, ensuring that Americans can freely practice their faith without government interference or discrimination. This initiative emphasizes the historical significance of religious liberty in the United States, which dates back to early settlers fleeing persecution.

EO 14290 Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Biased Media

Directs the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to cease all federal funding for National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). The rationale behind this decision is that taxpayer funding should only support fair, accurate, unbiased, and nonpartisan news coverage. The order argues that government funding of media in the current landscape is outdated and corrosive to journalistic independence.
